The National Board of Examinations (NBE) organizes the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Super Specialty, known as NEET SS, for admission to 2,447 Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgie (MCh) seats in 156 institutions throughout India.

Recently, NBE announced NEET SS 2026. According to the official notice, the exam is tentatively scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2026. Registration for NEET SS 2026 will take place on nbe.edu.in, along with the release of the information brochure. This brochure includes key details about the exam, such as eligibility criteria, the registration process, fees, and more.

After registration, hall tickets for NEET SS 2026 will be available on the official website. Candidates must bring their admit card to the exam center on the day of the test. The NEET SS exam will be conducted in a computer-based format, featuring 100 multiple-choice questions.

The results for NEET SS 2026 will be published on the official website in PDF format. Only those candidates who meet the NEET SS cut-off percentile will be considered qualified. The cutoff scores for NEET SS 2026 will be released alongside the results for 32 super-specialties. Only candidates who qualify will be able to download their NEET SS 2026 scorecard. Based on the results, eligible candidates will be invited to participate in the NEET SS 2026 counseling process, managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Eligibility Criteria

  • For appearing in NEET SS, aspirants are required to hold a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) or any equivalent examination.
  • Aspirants who complete their Postgraduate degree are eligible to apply for NEET SS 2026 Candidates without a degree will not be allowed to fill out the application form.
  • Applicants must have a provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the State Medical Council (SMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI), which they must also furnish at the time of examination.

Foreign nationals who wish to take the NEET SS examination for admission to a particular speciality can fulfil certain eligibility criteria:

  • MCI registration certificate is not required by the non-resident Indians to appear for NEET SS, but they need to be registered with the respective medical authority of their country.
  • Temporary registration will be provided to such candidates till the duration of the postdoctoral degree after qualifying for the exam.
  • This registration will be limited to the college/institution to which anyone gets admission.
