About

The National Board of Examination (NBE) organizes the Diplomate of National Board Post-Diploma Centralized Entrance Test, known as DNB PDCET 2024, for admission to 1,073 seats in 14 specialties at 597 hospitals throughout India. The exam took place on July 21, and the results were announced on August 21. Only those who pass the exam can take part in the DNB PDCET counselling process run by NBE. The counselling will be based on the merit achieved in the entrance test for specific specialties.

DNB PDCET 2024 Exam Overview

DNB-PDCET is a crucial entrance exam for admission to post-diploma DNB (broad specialties) postgraduate courses. The DNB PDCET 2024 exam is held in a computer-based format at 18 test centers nationwide. The entrance test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions covering 8 different specialties. According to the marking system, each correct answer earns four points, while there is a 25% negative marking, meaning one point is deducted for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria

All candidates who want to take the entrance test must meet the DNB PDCET eligibility requirements set by the exam authority. Application Process

Filling of the DNB PDCET application form is a six-step process that included registration, filling of the application form, uploading of scanned images, choosing the test city, payment of application fee, and printing of filled application form. All candidates irrespective of their category will be required to pay Rs. 4,250 without taxes- as the application fee for DNB PDCET.

Admit Card

The DNB PDCET admit card 2024 is issued by the exam authority to all registered candidates. This admit card is important as it shows the test centres assigned to each candidate. To enter the exam center, candidates must bring the following documents:

  • A printed copy of the DNB PDCET admit card 2024 
  • A government-issued ID, such as a Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, or PAN card (original copy) 
  • A photocopy of either permanent or provisional SMC/MCI registration.

Candidates need to keep the DNB PDCET 2024 admit card for result checking and counselling, so it should be kept until the admission process is finished. Additionally, candidates must attach their recent photograph in the designated area on the admit card and arrive at the exam center on time.

Counselling Process

Candidates who pass the entrance exam and meet the eligibility requirements can take part in the DNB PDCET counselling 2024. The counselling results will show the roll number, rank, category, specialty, college or hospital name, and state. Those listed in the counselling results must secure their assigned seat and download the DNB PDCET 2024 allotment letter for the first round. Candidates need to go to the assigned college with their documents for verification and to complete the DNB PDCET admission process. After this, the authorities will hold the next rounds of counselling for DNB PDCET 2024.

There will be four rounds of DNB PDCET 2024 counselling, with the first three conducted online and the final round taking place offline at the NBE office in New Delhi. Candidates who do not register for the first round will not be able to join the later rounds. After registering, candidates must indicate their preferred courses and colleges for DNB PDCET admission. Those with higher merit positions can select their options after paying the counselling fee of Rs 2500/-. Admissions will be based on the choices made and the availability of seats.
